The Bitpanda Hamburg Open 2025 is drawing to a close. Tournament Director Enric Molina from organizer Tennium and DTB President Dietloff von Arnim answered questions from media representatives on the terrace of the hospitality area on Saturday before the finals and both drew a positive conclusion from the tournament week. “What pleases me most is that the fans come with a smile and leave with a smile,” said Molina. This is Tennium’s second year as host and organizer of the traditional tournament.
Ticket sales have been particularly pleasing. In the end, there will have been roughly the same number of visitors to the Rothenbaum course as last year. It should be noted that the tournament had one less match day this year – ticket sales increased by 15 percent
“The city of Hamburg and the Club an der Alster are very satisfied,” reported von Arnim, who particularly highlighted campaigns such as the “Kids Day”. “We as the DTB are also completely satisfied with the tournament,” added von Armin.
Molina said he could understand that fans were disappointed because players had withdrawn at short notice. However, this was unfortunately unavoidable with a date between the Masters in Rome and the French Open. At the same time, Molina thanked Alexander Zverev for coming and for his commitment, as the Hamburg native was knocked out in the round of 16 of his home tournament due to illness. “It’s very special for us to see how important this tournament is to him – and of course it’s also special for the spectators to see their hometown hero.”
“Hamburg is the home of German tennis,” summarized Molina. And it will remain so in the years to come. Advance ticket sales for the 2026 tournament (May 16 to 23) have been running since this week.
