The Bitpanda Hamburg Open are set to welcome another world-class player: Félix Auger-Aliassime has confirmed his participation in the prestigious ATP 500 tournament at Hamburg’s Rothenbaum, taking place from May 16 to 23, 2026. The Canadian becomes the second top player to commit to the event, following Alexander Zverev. Currently ranked world No. 7, Auger-Aliassime has been a mainstay among the global elite for several years and is coming off an outstanding 2025 season.
The 25-year-old reached the semifinals of the US Open, advanced to the semifinals of the ATP Finals in Turin—where he recorded notable wins against top opponents including Zverev and Ben Shelton — and captured multiple ATP titles throughout the year, including victories in Adelaide, Montpellier, and at the European Open in Brussels. At the Paris Masters, he finished runner-up after falling to world No. 2 Jannik Sinner in the final. In November 2025, Auger-Aliassime climbed to world No. 5, the highest ranking of his career. The Canadian has already made a strong impression at the Rothenbaum: at the Bitpanda Hamburg Open 2025, he reached the semifinals, impressing fans and experts alike with his dynamic and aggressive style of play.
“We are delighted to announce that Félix Auger-Aliassime, the world No. 7, has confirmed his participation as the second top player for the Bitpanda Hamburg Open 2026,” said Enric Molina Mur, Tournament Director of the Hamburg Open. “Félix enjoyed an outstanding 2025 season, highlighted by several tournament titles, including a run to the semifinals of the US Open. A class act and fan favorite, Félix delivered a great performance here at Rothenbaum in 2025 and brought a special connection with Hamburg’s passionate tennis fans. With more top players to be announced soon, the Bitpanda Hamburg Open 2026 promise an extraordinary week of world-class tennis at our tournament venue.”
Auger-Aliassime is also looking forward to his return to Hamburg:“I’m very excited to be back at the Bitpanda Hamburg Open in 2026. I have great memories of the atmosphere from last year—the fans at the Rothenbaum always create something truly special. I definitely want to build on my strong performances from the 2025 season when I return to Hamburg.” Earlier, Alexander Zverev had already confirmed his participation in the tournament. The Hamburg-born fan favorite and champion of the 2023 Hamburg Open was announced as the first top player in December. Currently ranked world No. 3, Zverev remains one of the leading figures on the ATP Tour.
In the coming weeks and months, fans can look forward to further announcements of world-class players for the Bitpanda Hamburg Open. This traditional clay-court event is one of the most prestigious ATP 500 tournaments worldwide and will be organized by Tennium for the third time in 2026.
